Contact Lenses

Contact Lenses by Stephen Hing Opticians
At Stephen Hing Opticians, being independent means that we can fit contact lenses for you, from all manufacturers, suited to fit in with your lifestyle and personal eyecare needs.

Contact lenses vary considerably from daily disposable (wear once) to Gas permeable annual lenses (small, hard contact lenses which you keep, clean and reuse for about a year).

The most popular contact lenses are daily disposable or monthly replacement soft contact lenses; dependent on your prescription and wearing requirements.

Please see the various options below and contact us for an appointment where we can assess your suitability for contact lenses and advise you on the best contact lens option for you.
Daily Disposable Contact Lenses

Ideal for occasional wear or full time wear without the need to clean them. Brands include Focus Dailies Aquacomfort+, Johnson & Johnson 1 Day Acuvue Moist and Proclear 1 Day, plus many others.

Available in long and short sighted prescriptions, astigmatic and multifocal.

Monthly and Two Weekly Disposible Contact Lenses

Ideal for full time wear, both monthly and two weekly lenses can correct most visual errors, including astigmatism and multifocal lenses. Modern materials mean that these lenses can be worn for longer with greater comfort.

Brands include Air Optix Aqua, Biofinity, Acuvue Oasys and Purevision and many others.

These lenses will require cleaning on a daily basis with a recommended cleaning solution.

Annual Contact Lenses

Gas permeable lenses are also available, these lenses require extra time to ensure correct fitting and for new wearers take some time to get used to.

These lenses last longer than the soft contact lenses and therefore are usually replaced on an annual basis, they require cleaning on a daily basis.

These lenses are usually fitted to people with unusual prescriptions or ocular conditions like keratoconus.
If you would like to discuss if contact lenses are suitable for you, please contact us on 01462 811852.
